These are the protocols and procedures in place at Colorado Construction Cleaning (hereafter referred to as CCC). They are designed to limit viral exposure to employees, clients, families and other contractors onsite. These procedures conform to local, state and CDC Covid 19 recommendations.
CCC employees remain at least 6 feet apart and involve little contact with the public, visitors or clients. In accordance with OSHA guidelines, CCC operations are in the LOWER RISK level.
CCC shall adapt infection control strategies based on thorough hazard assessments, using appropriate combinations of engineering and administrative controls, safe work practices and personal protective equipment.
GENERAL GUIDANCE FOR CCC WORKERS AND EMPLOYERS
- Frequently wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. When soap and running water are unavailable, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Employees will be equipped at all times with personal hand sanitizer.
- Avoid touching eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands.
- Practice good respiratory etiquette, including covering coughs and sneezes.
- Avoid close contact with people that are sick.
- Stay home if sick.
- Recognize personal risk factors, i.e. pre-existing health issues that increase susceptibility
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
- All CCC personnel will wear Type 1 hard hats and ANSI approved safety glasses with side shields while at job site.
- Latex gloves will be worn at all times while performing CCC duties.
- When determined by CCC management that enhanced PPE is appropriate, tyvex outer coverings will be made available to all employees.
- Each CCC employee will have personal hand sanitizer available at his/her work station.
- Face shields shall be made available at each job location.
- Tyvex outerwear will be used when working inlocations where infections are known to have occurred.
ADMINISTRATIVE CONTROLS
CCC employees will be trained on:
- The signs and symptoms of COVID-19
- All policies and procedures that are applicable to the employees duities as they relate to potential exposure.
- Information on appropriate social distancing and hygiene practices.
- The types, proper uses, limitations, location, handling, decontamination, removal and disposal of any PPE being used.
- The importance of staying home if they are sick.
- Using Environmental Protection Agency-approved cleaning chemicals that have label claims against the Coronavirus for cleaning frequently touched surfaces like tools, handles and machines.
- The need to report any safety and health concerns.
- Workers will be asked COVID-19 related questions and temperature checked regularly.
SAFE WORK PRACTICES
- Identify choke points where workers are forced to stand together, such as hallways, hoists, ingress and egress points, and break areas and implement policies to maintain social distancing.
- In-person meetings will be as short as possible with social distancing in practice.
- Workers should avoid touching their faces, including their eyes, noses and mouths, particularly untial after they have thoroughly washed their hands upon completing work and/or removing PPE.
- Ensure that there are systems in place to handle waste and other potentially infectious materials.
- Clean, disinfect and maintain reusable equipment and PPE.
- Workers will be protected from exposure to hazardous cleaning chemicals. Safety Data Sheets (SDS's) will be available and provide guidance about additional PPE, if necessary.
OFFICE PROTOCOLS
- All visitors at CCC administrative offices will be required to sign-in and have temperatures checked. For contact tracing purposes, these sign-in sheets will be maintained for a period of 6 months.
- Social distancing will be practiced in CCC offices.
- Offices will be thoroughly cleaned at regular intervals.
